This years Passportes event will take place over the weekend of the 27th & 28th June 2009.

Registrations for the 6th Passportes event are now open. 2000 riders have already registered for this years event so if you are thinking about riding this year get registered and book your accommodation now.

For those riders that have not riden this event before it is a 75km mountain bike ride around the whole of the Portes du Soleil. Using the 24 summer ski lifts you will cover a huge area and from 1000m to 2250m in altitude. You can choose which resort you would prefer to start from and also whether to ride on the Saturday or Sunday.

Let us know if you need somewhere to stay and if you cant get a start point in Chatel, try Morgins as its only 10 minutes away.

We have just reached the half way point of our 5th winter season in Chatel with more snow than we have ever seen before at this time of year.  With heavy snow in November, December and early February we have nearly 3 metres of snow on the mountain.

If you are still hopeful of getting in some skiing this season please get in touch as availability is now limited although the ski area will be open until the very end of April and possibly the first week of May!

This winter season Chatel is again the place to watch some of the more unusual winter sports. From 21st - 25th March we host the Chatel “3 Style” Events:

Saturday 21st March - The Razorsnowbike - Mountain Biking On Snow!

A time race down the Linga Piste and a 4 cross event much like a boardercross but on a bike!

Sunday 22nd March - The Festyslide - A kind of water skiing!

Create a huge pool from snow, fill with water and see how far you can get across on skis!

Monday 23rd & Tuesday 24th March - Pro Freestyle Competition
